Shubhendu Adhikari has announced plans for a protest outside Raj Bhavan in Kolkata against the state government. Adhikari expressed discontent, noting that while the Trinamool Congress (TMC) has been granted permission for similar protests, the BJP has faced obstacles in obtaining the same. He highlighted the issue, stating, "If the police can give permission to Trinamool, why can't the BJP?"
The BJP has officially submitted a letter to the police requesting authorization for the protest. In the event of no response, Adhikari intends to escalate the matter by writing directly to the Police Commissioner on Tuesday. This move comes amid escalating political tensions in West Bengal, where opposition parties often accuse the state administration of biased treatment in granting protest permissions.
The protest, if approved, is expected to underscore the BJP's stance on issues concerning governance and policy in the state, positioning it against the ruling Trinamool Congress ahead of upcoming political developments.
